The Open Letter Project (NMI 2008): The DC Locative Media Project

We invite you to take a "geo" journey with us around Washington, D.C., a city that has strong liberation and freedom roots in the development of our great country. We are a team of multicultural new media creators - producers, locative artists, and web based professionals from Chicago, San Francisco, and our territory of Samoa. Using Google Earth, the locations we have chosen speak to the quest for freedom and opportunity since the Capital was built two centuries ago. There are images, links, and video tagged to places, monuments, and institutions that have been around for many years and others that are new or in the planning stages.
We are especially pleased to highlight the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a part of the highly regarded Smithsonian brand, and the last building positioned on the Mall. We know you join us in our excitement about this new museum and look forward to its completion in 2015.
